Jane Kaufmann Jane Kaufmann creates raku-fired clay sculptures that range from whimsical to topical. Raku is a method of firing where red hot pieces are taken from a kiln with tongs and thrown in pine needles to smoke the clay. Kaufmann's pieces reflect whatever comes into her mind - taking inspiration from virtually anything in the world around her and turning it into art.
